Finding the perfect setting for your special day is essential, and when it comes to a wedding venue in Ballarat, the options are as diverse as they are stunning. Ceres Homestead, with its blend of elegance and charm, offers a romantic backdrop that is sure to make your celebration unforgettable. In this blog, we’ll explore what makes this wedding venue in Ballarat stand out, from its picturesque surroundings to the customizable options that can help you create your dream wedding.
Together with Jane, owner of the homestead, and Bea, photographer from The New Old, we worked together to create an intimate and romantic wedding set-up.
THE VENUE: Ceres Homestead, Learmonth
Nestled among rolling hills and serene landscape, Ceres Homestead, just a scenic 1.30-hour drive from Melbourne, offers a natural haven filled with rustic charm. Picture driving up the winding path, greeted by the sweet scent of wildflowers and the gentle rustle of leaves from magnificent trees. It’s not just a venue; it’s a space where love thrives and flourishes in the peaceful surroundings of nature.
COLOUR PALETTE
We used the soft pastel hues of blush pink, ethereal ivory, and periwinkle lavender to evoke a sense of romance. These colors create a romantic ambiance that complements the natural beauty of the venue.
FLORAL DETAILS
Taking inspiration from the venue’s European style garden and what’s in season in January, I used hydrangeas, cosmos, dahlias and lavender in wicker baskets and decorative pots. I also used tall dry grass and potted plants for the aisle ends to tie in with the surroundings.
For the bouquet, I used silk ribbons from Songbird Silk, specially hand dyed by an artisan based in Sydney, to add a touch of romance.
For the table centrepiece flowers, I decided to hero these beautiful dahlias from Lorelie, a local grower.
Making use of seasonal flowers and supporting local artisans a priority is in line with my values and ethos. If you would like to know how Estúdyo stays sustainable, you can find more information in this journal.
STYLING
Beyond the floral details, we used beautiful antique chairs and gold candle holders that the venue had to add a touch of vintage elegance. To elevate the tablescape, we used draping linen and fine glassware, creating a refined yet functional look.
