Picture this: A bright and sunny day in Melbourne, the air crisp and inviting as I left my studio on a mission to gather the the last rose bucket of the season. The sun’s warm embrace filled me with a sense of excitement. Little did I know, this journey would soon teach me a valuable lesson about Melbourne’s unpredictable weather. I went out in my favorite pair of shoes, completely underestimating Melbourne’s notorious mood swings. The sky, once a canvas of azure blue, began to transform into a medley of clouds, teasing the possibility of change.
A lesson learned in the most unexpected way, but isn’t that the beauty of life’s little surprises?
So, here’s to those moments when our plans take an unexpected turn and teach us valuable lessons. Here’s to Melbourne, a city that can shower us with both sunshine and rain in a single day. And most importantly, here’s to always being prepared, whether it’s selecting the perfect blooms or choosing the right pair of shoes before stepping out into the world of petals and raindrops.
Until next time, rain or shine!
I would like to thank Michael from Nood Blooms for sharing his time, knowledge and valuable insights into rose farming. It was truly a humbling experience. Next time you shop for roses, ask your florist where they are from so you can show your commitment and support for Australian flower growers.
Connecting with local flower growers is the core of Estúdyo ~ and that connection means the world to me.
